Control the games that you play on your PC with a mobile device. The tool turns your Android device into a gamepad. It requires a Bluetooth or WiFi connection between the smartphone or tablet and the computer and supports up to four connected devices at a time.
MAXJoypad allows you to use your Android portable device as a gamepad controller. In this respect, the Windows program functions as a server that connects to the client app running on your portable device. In this respect, it is excellent that Windows recognizes the client as a real gamepad, which minimizes the occurrence of failures.
The server runs inadvertently from the System Tray, and you only need to access its graphic user interface in case reconfiguration is required. It is good that not only Wi-Fi but also Bluetooth connections are supported. While connecting via Bluetooth does not need any additional configuration, if you are using Wi-Fi/Wired, you should set the ports. Good news is that you can use the default ports or define your own. Finally, there are some buttons intended for starting or stopping the gamepad service control.
The client’s interface simulates that of a real gamepad controller, so there is absolutely no learning curve if you have used this type of equipment before. Moreover, buttons are drawn as 3D simulations for a more realistic feeling. There is even a Macro button, which allows you to record sequences of movements and replay them with just a touch of a button. Likewise, you can use game profiles that allow hiding undesired buttons. Good news is that there are multiple video demonstrations available if you need any help.
In short, MAXJoypad is a good solution if you do not have a joypad at hand. Fortunately, the program works wonderfully most of the times. Only once during a gameplay session, I felt there was a slight lag. It is good that up to four players can participate in the game simultaneously. Finally, both the server and the client can be downloaded for free from the developer’s interface. Some additional features should be available via in-app purchase.
